Hi all - long-time lurker on this board but don't really post that often. Firstly, I would like to thank you all as you have been a tremendous source of knowledge here! I know this topic has been discussed periodically throughout the last period but wanted to share my thoughts and get a third person's / objective point of view, particularly as many people may find themselves in a similar situation. I live and work in DIFC (Sky Gardens building) for over 3 years now since I moved here. I don't drive and wanted to be walking distance from work. The time for lease renewal is coming up and my 1BDR is up for renewal at AED70, 000. While this seems like a good price, when taking into account all the additional utilities, wi-fi cleaning that I have to pay for, there is an additional AED1, 500 per month so lease costs amount to approximately AED88, 000. This is for an unfurnished place and I have made an initial decent investment in furniture during my time here. I am looking at a budget of AED10, 000 per month all-inclusive so would be looking at a tier-up from the Rove hotel and something not too far from the DIFC.
