Having these doubts will keep you grounded, of course it's going to be tough, but you can do tough. Once I started climbing up those rocks it really hit me that this was NOT a climb for everyone, but seeing Children and much older people than myself climbing up and down made me realise that I was just putting doubts in my own mind. So I took my time, enjoyed the views, let my legs recover, took a few selfies and then slowly but surely gradually made it past the chained section. This itself was a win. Now I was just getting mad at how much further the summit seemed to be. I was fortunate to have a friend continuously encourage me and then about 30m from the top the smiling faces of two more friends that had already peaked really gave me that final drive. I made it. Legs cramping, eyes watering, shirt drenched, hands covered in dirt. A solid hour at the top enjoying the views, a lunch and lots of photos it was time to face the rock scramble once again. It's also incredibly difficult and my legs cramped up ALLOT, to the point I had to stop for minutes at a time to get feeling back.
But it was still faster and I think less physically demanding than going up. Once back on the trail it's quite enjoyable, your legs do cop a beating but you can certainly enjoy the scenery allot more. I know I did. Our descent was half the time of our ascent, our overall time on the mountain was 5 hours, that was including the lunch at the top. It took 2hr40min for me personally to reach summit, my friends ranged from 1hr20 to 2hr20. I highly recommend anyone able to give this hike/ climb a go, it's a marvelous achievement and allot of fun at the end of the day. …
