Located just 5 minutes walk from the town centre and 5 minute walk from the lake, our home is designed specifically for the holiday makers seeking short or long term accommodation and is suitable for families and great for romantic weekends away. The 3-bedroom home has a lounge, kitchen, dining room, two bathrooms and laundry facilities. Accommodates up to 10+ persons. Outdoors there's also a deck with gas BBQ for guests to enjoy. The holiday home is ideally located near Tuggerah Lake and The Entrance Town Centre. It is located 99 km north of Sydney via The Newcastle Freeway.
First thing I asked, when making the booking - how far to the beach, resonse: It is so so close, no more than a 5 minute walk as there is access straight to the beach. This was rubbish, the beach was a 15-20 minute walk, and because the pool was largely off limits (Covid) that only really left the beach as an option - and it was like a day trip. don't get me wrong, mu kids are 11 and 15 and it was stil a hike - so deinitely misrepresented these details. Second, arrived to find that there was a cement post and cement block dead smack in the middle of the annexe area (powered site). We had to put red tape onto the pole so that the kids didn't run into it or trip on them. This meant that we had to put the one table over these cement blocks and left us with no space to even eat our meals. Thirdly, it rained, which is fine - they can't control that - but there was no provision for water to be redirected to, so the annexe was ankle deep with water, as there was nowhere for it to run off to.
Alternatively, The Entrance is just an hour south of Newcastle, along the F3 Freeway following the same directions. However, for a more scenic route you can take the Pacific Highway past Cams Wharf to Doyalson where you'll turn left into Norah Rd and onto Scenic Rd. Follow this road across the Budgewoi Pont bridge to Wilfred Barrett Drive and continue 10km to The Entrance.
The Entrance is situated on the New South Wales central coast, straddling the narrow entrance to Tuggerah Lake between Toukley and Gosford. The Entrance is a popular beach resort and holiday destination, surrounded by ocean beaches and the calm waters of Tuggerah Lake.
