Due to disaster relief operations at Vanuatu island the C-130 Hercules could not participate, but a P-3C Orion arrived for some passes. Of course the commentary pointed out the important role of this RNZAF aircraft in the search for flight MH370. As the T-6 is rather new in the Air Force's fleet, this type only performed some slow fly-bys. A full display routine should be ready for the next event in Omaka for sure! The NH90 was also flown in a small operation involving ground troops, and the venerable UH-1 Huey performed its last public display as in may 2015 the last of these helicopters were put out of RNZAF Service.

Overall a decent weekend, but my suspicions that I am just not a Lake Person were confirmed. Great trip This was a great weekend trip. Camp sites were large and had enough privacy! Very clean bathrooms and showers! Would highly recommend. Clearest lake in North Carolina Lake James is by far the clearest body of water I have been on in NC. Kayaked to the Long Arm camping are #1 and stayed at campsite #6. Great site along with site #5–both are premo paddle-in-only camping spots on the water and have a small beach front to tie up your vessels. Picnic table, fire ring and a very large metal storage cabinet to keep any would-be vermin out of your food. Very peaceful area for relaxing, fishing and enjoying the lake. Firewood for sale at $5 a bundle from the camp host if you need it. Communal privy. No running water. Must pack all trash out. 10/10, would do again. Long Arm camping area - the BEST boat in campground!!! This is probably my favorite place in North Carolina. Lake James is a true gem, clean and beautiful, with amazing views of Linville Gorge, Shortoff Mountain, and Table Rock.
