Booked in for the night and paid £85 for a family room with a sea view. I should have read the Trip advisor reviews first, more fool I for not as others have had the same problem as me. Firstly, on entering the main hotel I suppose the polite way of putting it, is the hotel is tired, close to death, in intensive care, in the course of my employment I've visited homeless hostels that were more inviting, very stale and musty smell. Up to the room only to find that my "sea view" was in fact a side room with a small window that overlooked bins. I asked the landlady about this who immediately blamed stating that she always has this problem with them wrongly advertising it. I contacted who stated that no sea view was advertised for a family room. A screen shot with "Family room with a sea view" put that right on which told me, tough luck and ended the live chat. I thought I'd make the most of it and bearing in mind we're in the middle of a pandemic was shocked at the following lack of hygiene procedures.

1)The en suite toilet still had the remnants of someone's vindaloo from the previous night. 2)There was an old pair of men's swimming trunks in the wardrobe which when opened smelt very (VERY) strongly of human excrement 3) the lights above the bed had no bulbs in them and were thick with dust and grease 4) The bed divans were filthy 5) carpet was filthy 6) Television was the size of a DVD player 7) Bed sheets were stained 8) Bed springs were almost through the mattress At this point I realised that it was one big con and after checking Trip Advisor and reviews on saw that others had fallen for this lie. The landlady told me that no family room had a sea view (despite it being advertised) and I had paid extra for a larger room. I was livid, so much so that I walked out there and then. Suffice to say the landlady wanted to keep my 85 quid and currently am awaiting an investigation by Them blaming the landlady and vice versa doesn't budge from the fact that I'm still 85 notes down. I'll also contact Trading Standards via Citizens Advice which is the protocol but BEWARE, this is a con, you're promised a lovely big room with sea views and you don't get it, presumably as this practice continues most people accept it and write it off and just won't go back, but this is verging on criminal.

The hotel features family rooms. Loved the extra space of an apartment. We were a group of 3 friends staying here for the Vintage by the Sea event so had a quite a lot of luggage as well. Check in was quick and easy at the bar in the Royal pub on the seafront with a lovely, friendly member of staff who also took me round to the apartment as it's in a different building. Great bathroom and living room/kitchen area and comfortable, decent sized bedrooms. Saw other reviews about it being behind a pub that is open quite late at the weekend, however, we had no issues at all with noise. Lots of cafes/pubs nearby in Morecambe for meals or you could make your own! No parking on-site, however, we parked down the seafront all weekend for free, about a 5 minute walk from the pub. We would definitely book again in the future.
